No, keep the 6ft one and decorate it tastefully. Remember to take it down the dump and have it recycled into something you can spread on the garden. ummmmm that's it. Don't spray it with hair spray though (to keep the needles on) because you don't want to contaminate the mulch.

No size doesn't matter in this case, it just needs to squeeze in the door. Be sure to be safe with your tree!! It needs to have water or it may dry out from fire and be sure the balls are not to low, as they can break from banging the bottom.
