Your public IP address (that the internet sees) can be found by visiting http://www.whatismyipaddress.com
For your private IP address (only your local network can see it) go to your Start button, click Run... then type "cmd" in the prompt and press okay. Then type "ipconfig" in the black command prompt window and it will be listed as "IP Address" on the information there. You can X out of the window or type "exit" to close that window.

First of all, if you are using a router, you would have an internal IP address for your home network, use the the site portforward.com to help you with static IPs and so on, start at this link: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm
If you do not have a router or network, and your computer is connected straight to a modem and then the internet, then just go to http://www.portforward.com/default.htm and look for the "Your external IP address is".

many webpages can give... http://whatismyipaddress.com/ for sure.
However, for internal IP, you'll need to open a DOS prompt, then type "ipconfig" and hit enter.
