Here are some sources specifically on the links between homosexuality and genetics.

People are almost certainly homosexual because of genetics. There is a great deal of scientific evidence that it is inborn. Beyond scientific evidence there is anecdotal evidence.

The fruit fly study is actually fairly conclusive. But the pheremonal and eye blink studies are also compelling. I've included links below for those that are interested. Beyond that, research increasingly suggests that at least for males, Xq28 is the crucial gene. I am saddened by this, because I believe that once it is proven, gay people will be wiped out -- and I think that is sad, because given the number of species in which homosexuality exists (see Dr. Bruce Bagemihl's book "Biological Exuberance" from St. Martin's Press) I think it serves a purpose, and has been evolutionarily preferred. The recent Italian study by Andrea Camperio-Ciani and colleagues pretty clearly shows both how and why a gene or gene set causing homosexuality, particularly in males - would survive and be preferred evolutionarily.

In addition to scientific evidence is the anecdotal evidence. I never in my life had any sexual feeling for a female -- nor any romantic feelings. I have had romantic feelings for other males since 8. I figured out it was sexual at 11 and came out at 14. I never felt anything for girls, neither do other gay males I know. Some boys manage to suppress it for a time, but when it comes out they admit to having always had the feelings. Likewise for bisexuals, although bisexuals always have feelings for both, and therefore are capable of choice -- for real. Gays are no more capable of choice than straights are.

Kind regards,

I'll keep it short and simple. Animals exhibit "gay" behavior (actually mating with same sex others). This has been documented and is still being investigated by scientists the world over. Bottom line? If animals are "gay" too, then that translates to the idea that homosexuality is "natural" by definition (unless animals are to be re-classified as "evil"). (Your dog or cat will love that). Homosexuality is, therefore, part of genetic behavioral memory or animals would not exhibit this "phenomenon" without the religious, pornographic or other social "interferences" that supposedly cause homosexuality in humans. MSNBC has reported on it. Here is the link and good luck with your research: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15750604/

There hasn't been conclusive evidence for a strictly genetic "cause" for homosexuality found.
That doesn't mean there isn't one -- or that homosexuality is completely a "choice," it just means that there is no conclusive proof one way or the other. Yet.

Read the article below -- it's one of the most objective and insightful on the subject I've seen in some time.

i found out though I'm not the most educated in it, homosexuality is heredity, which means during conception, in the womb of the mother, external genes depending if your male or female, influences the babies genetic structure, and a more masculine or feminine, attribute is add to your structure. however it is not known to be contagious (of course), and it is not inherit ant like eye color.

Let's take it logically. God created Adam and than Eva from the man's rib. So for a man to be complete he needs the woman (he needs his rib back).
"Hence God had a deep sleep fall upon the man and, while he was sleeping, he took one of his ribs and then closed up the flesh over its place. And God proceeded to build the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman and to bring her to the man.

< “This is at last bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh.
This one will be called Woman,
Because from man this one was taken.”

That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh. And both of them continued to be naked, the man and his wife, and yet they did not become ashamed.">>-Genesis 2:21-24
God condemns homosexuality. Being gay is unnatural and obscene.(Romans 1:26,27,32; 1 Cor. 6:9,10)
