Not all schools combine Deaf and Blind anymore. The trend is to MAINSTREAM children with hearing and sighted students. There are still some state schools left:

I do not think there are deaf and blind institutions. But there are schools for them. I am deaf myself, and I am pretty sure that it is against the law to place someone into an institution based on the sole fact they have a disability. Thank God, I was not born 50 years ago.

Florida school for the deaf and blind. Emphasis on the word school, not institution. Excellent program- been in existence since 1885, and its a public school.
