Well it depends on how you want to define terrorism, Anything can be terrorism...I mean the Kids at columbine could be considered terrorists. But if you are referring to the Islamic Extremists who Fly planes into buildings and blow up people with road side bombs then the answer is Religion causes this to happen. They feel like they are fighting for what they believe in and they have absolute faith that they will be rewarded in the afterlife. Anyone who tells you that its because these people are poor and they are uneducated are Idiots because the Hijackers on the planes from 9/11 all had phd's. They did it for religious reasons. Ex. Koran 9:73, Koran 9:123, Koran 4:95-101
They take these verses to the most literal sense

The absenteeism of mind is the cause of terrorism because it means that someone's thoughts are dominating this mind which is ready to do whatever it is asked to. Most of the world terrorism is based on religion principles because only religion can have this effect on human mind. Of course the misinterpretations of some religious texts which are used by experienced clergy-politicians to wash young people's brains and push them to commit suicide crimes to kill others are the cause of the terrorism in the world.

How terrorism affects us is another issue that needs psychological analysis. It is enough to say that terrorism spreads fear and unceratainty which kill creativity and hinders productivity and as a result despair spreads and many people can give up themselves to terrorists because they think that terrorists will save them and keep their lives. Thus the world falls in this vicious circle.

The core reason why radical "Muslim Theocratic Republics" and fundamentalist terrorist attack Western Culture and wage war against it, is because they fear that Western Culture´s values, way of life, free press, democracy, individualism and free thinking will one day overrun Islamic Theocratic Republics from the earth.

The Palestinian, Israeli, Afghan and Iraqi issues are pretexts their leaders need to feed and brainwash their populace as the reasons for the confrontation against christian countries and their allies. But another, is the real reason.

That is why they create a series of crisis the Palestinian issue, Salman´s Rushdie´s “Satanic Verses”, Afghanistan, Iraq, Dutch cartoons, even being frisked at airports, or the Pope quoting a 14 century Byzantine emperor.

Anything is valid, Islamic radicals have to portrait themselves as victims before the world to have a reason to hurl themselves against the west TO REACH THEIR FINAL GOAL a : World Wide Islamic Theocratic Republic.

Religion and hatred the main reason period! Those that say lack of education and poverty are dead wrong because there are many nations that are dirt poor and they are peace loving and do not adhere to terrorism.

Lack of jobs, enemies and poverty cause this because the people need to provide for their children and by becoming a terrorist they get lots of money and so this is what they do their whole lives without concern for themselves.
