It is caused by the earth being on a 33.5 degree axis. As the year progresses, and the earth travels around the sun, each hemisphere either leans toward the sun, or away from the sun. If you have summer in the northern hemisphere, you in turn have winter in the southern. The cause for the change in climate is the degree at which the sun's rays are hitting the earth. In summer, the rays hit at a more direct angle and are allowed to soak in more, whereas in winter they hit at a shallow angle and more or less bounce off the surface causing less warming to occur.

The cause of seasons is based on the way the Earth's axis tilts towards the sun. For example, in North America, when it is summer our hemisphere is tilted towards the sun and thus the southern hemispheres would be having fall or spring.

The Earths revolutions around the sun...not to be confused with the rotations. THe rotations cause day and night, the revolutions cause the seasons. The farther away you are from the sun the colder it will be hince winter and the closer you are the warmer you will be...summer. Hope this helps!

The major cause of the season is because the earth is tilted from its perpendicular to 23.5 degree twice in a year. It happens at the 21st of June and 21st of December. In 21st of June sun is at zenith at 66.5 degree north (90 degree north-23.5) and this enable the rays of sun to hit the region in the northern hemisphere. As a result it is summer in northern hemisphere and winter in the northern hemisphere. In 21st of December it is the opposite, sun is at zenith at 66.5 degree south and summer will transpire in the southern hemisphere whereas winter season is in the northern hemisphere. The area around the equator, to be precise between 23.5 N to 23.5 S does not encounter any change in season because the rays of the sun always hit that part of the globe. Supposed that earth is not revolving around the sun, the earth would never be tilted from its axis and without this occurrence, the entire part of the globe will not experience any change in season.

The earth's seasons are primarily the result of the tilt of the earth as it spins on its axis.

If you are speaking of food, it is a spice. Otherwise, seasons are the changing of climates.
