All players go through a dip in form at some point in their career. Frank is a good player, no doubt about it. However, with the hype surrounding him before the World Cup, I think it made him a bit cocky. He is not a world class player.
Personally, I would prefer Gerrard over Lampard; but I would still keep him on the bench just in case.

yes i agree with you that lamaprd is overrated. the thing is there are other better midfieldrs in the country than him. for sure he score goals but thats not what he is suppossed to do most of the time and most of his goals come from penalty kicks and free kicks. a creative midfielder who plays in his position should be able to create defence splitting passes to his strikers like what fabregas does at arsenal and gerard does at liverpool.
and he is the main problem england is not exceling in the international arena coz i think as long as he gets that central midfield positionm ahead of gerard then engaland will continue to underachieve. although he is a goal scorer and takes good shots sometimes, most of the time his shooting goes astray, if you look at his shooting during the world cup, sometimes he was choosing the wrong options to shoot and ended up giving the ball to the keeper cheaply but if you look at gerard, when he shoots, you are assured of at least a strong short on target which ususally results in a goal or a near miss and he does not always shoot. sometimes he is also passing the ball backwards and i dont think he can develop to be one of the best midfielders that the english team expects him to grow into such as the zidanes, the pirlos and the ronaldinhos of this world.

Lampard is a good player. Most fans dont see the work done of the ball the closing down and creating space for other players you only rate him when his got the ball at is feet.

Yes. He doesnt seem to be able to make the step up from excellent club player to even competant international player. He looks out of his depth when he puts his England jersey on. Although having Steven Gerrard stood next to him trying to do the same job might be off putting! (to be fair when he is in a Chelsea shirt, any club in the world would want him)

Yep well overrated. He does well for Chelsea but can´t play with other players, he´s average for a top proffesional.
How morinho can think he´s the worlds best player is beyond me.
When there´s players like Diego (bremen), Klose, Ronadlinho etc about.

The most overrated player ever. if he wasn't in the England side Gerrard could play in his best position and even scholes might have not retired had lampard not shunted him to the left wing.

He was a lot better without Ballack. I think he is going through the pains of a new formation not totally suited to him.
I think he maybe nearing a move out of the bridge. His heart doesnt seem into it sometimes as well.

He is a very good player but he just hasn't reached the heights he did last season. He is also playing alongside a number of other world class midfielders so he isn't easily going to outshine them.
