i am 15 and a half, and want to get my permit. what is the process?

You have from now until you turn 16 to start studing the drivers manual and on your 16 th birthday take one of your parents along with a completed licese and Id update application signed by one of your parents plus $30 and head down to the nearest transportation office . There they will have you take the vision test plus a 20 question written test. If you pass you will then be issued your permit which is good for 2 years. On your 18 th birthday you will then get your Jr. Operating License . With your permit you must always have a licensed driver with you who is 21 or older in the front seat with you while driving. and thats it. You can find the drivers manual online along with the application that you need to take with you when you go.

Thought the age limit was 16? Anyway, get the rule book and study it, then go down and take the written test. Think a parent has to go with ya.
