I guess it's hard because he has to talk about something, but the guy is hard to hear. For example, the Barry Sanders/Reggie Bush comparison. Yes, it is possible that Reggie may have rushes for losses at time especially when he is trying to turn the corner on the outside. However to hear it repeatedly is innundating. Especially when I am of the mind that R. Bush could be better than Sanders. So yes he is annoying but as has been said, he isn't going anywhere.

I used to work at a Coffee Shop in Carmel, California, where John Madden owns a home, so he would come in quite a bit during the summer. And let me tell you, he is no different in person. it's hilarious.

AirDevil you can hold the racist remarks to yourself you clown! But to answer the question, Madden does get annoying at times but football would not be the same without him.

Agreed, Madden just kind of rambles and all he tells is good stories about the players. No real journalism, however he's still better than 75% of the color commentators out there.

Actually I don't. I do find all the other play-by-play and analysts incredibly annoying on all the stations.

Really Bad: Joe Theismann, Al Michaels, Joe Buck.

You know, my wife finds him annoying, but I do not. I mean, I guess he can be but compared to some others- who do not even keep track of the game-much less provide any insight....

" You are never as good as you think you are when you win...and you are never as bad as you think you are when you lose"....
has anyone else hit it on the head like that?

omg, i know, i wish i could make as much money as him for pointing out the obvious, and the funny thing is that he acts like he's making a keen observation that no one else knew, he'll say things like "i don't think that qb wanted to throw and interception" and i swear it gets worse every game
