Blues singer Etta James passed away this year.My daughter was
not aware of this.None of the web sites I've visited have any info
about her death.Seems to me that it was within the past 6 mo.

No she's still alive and well, matter of fact Christina Aguilera got to meet her because she's always said that was her idol.

I don't think that she is dead. They just announced that she is doing a show in San Francisco on March 10th.
