First it is not on the Pacific Ocean. Florida separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf Coast should be warmer since the Gulf Stream current comes out of the Gulf and flows north along the Atlantic Coast warming the coast as it goes north but cooling off at the same time as it goes north. So the source of the Gulf Stream should be warmer than its destination or various point along the way.
