Do you think it's OK to snoop and check up on your spouse/significant other? (i.e. checking email accounts, online chat programs, cell phones and phone bills, etc.)

Under what circumstances would you feel it's OK to do this? Would you be upset if they snooped on you?

Never ok to snoop. They are your spouse not your child. When has snooping ever made one relationship better.

I would be livid if my spouse snooped on me. She would be breaking my trust.

No it's not ok to snoop. Trust is a big part of a relationship and if you feel the need to snoop, you don't trust them to begin with. I would not like it done to me, even with nothing to hide, so I would not do it to them. If I had reason to believe there was a problem, I would confront them.

I have to snoop on my hubby every once in a while. WHY? Because we started off cheating with one another. He knows what I'm capable of, and I know what he's capable of. We love each other, probably got too comfortable with one another (because we've been together for so long), but we both have been in relationships besides our own to where our mates haven't been so faithful. That's just who we are, we trust NO ONE! It's a hard habit to break. I know it's not good, but hey, what can we do?

Totally innappropriate to snoop. That means there is a huge mis-trust issue with you guys. I think a chat is on order.

I think if you feel that you have to snoop, there is a problem. I would check if I think she was cheating, but I hope it never comes down to that.

I don't know if it's okay but if you feel the need to snoop then there must be some trust issues. I know my husbands e-mail password and he know's mine. I never read his and he never goes into mine. Even if he did all he would see his junk e-mail. We have nothing to hide from each other.

Good luck

I think that it's perfectly acceptable, if given a reason past or present. I wouldn't have a problem with my husband going through anything I have/own. We are married and I have nothing to hide, so why would I care.

I do it, but I am trying so hard to stop b/c it isnt healthy for your relationship. I feel so violated when it is done to me, yet I continue to do it. So, I would say no it isnt ok. (That means that I have to stop it)
The only time I think it is ok is when you think you no that something is going on and you need some PROOF.
