our debts from credit cards wouldn't be as high today if the democratic controlled congress, during jimmy carter's presidency, hadn't aboloshed the "usury"law, that set the upper limit of interest rates that could be charged, at a 12% maximum. since carter signed that bill into law, in'78 or '79 interest rates jumped up to between 18%and 30% . check it out. the information is out there if you dig through the publically available governments archives.

Listen, I think Bush has done terrible things, but your personal microeconomics does not equate to what the country should do necessarily. Defecit spending is good and sometimes critical in certain situations (no one would have objected to defecit spending for increased security after 9/11 for example; and defecit spending is important during times of economic recession). The question is whether THIS defecit spending is wise in THIS case.
