Not knowing what operating system you're using makes this a bit of a hard one to answer, but if you are running Windows XP then use the wireless network set up wizard (you'll find it by clicking start>control panel> wireless setup wizard (classic view)or start>control panel>network and internet connections(category view))to add the extra pc, run it on your daughter's pc first to get the relevant data and then on yours. It will be easier if you have a portable storage device such as a flash drive or mp3 player to transfer the relevant data

Sounds like you have done everything except put in the WEP code, see if your son or daughter can find the correct code in the modem and then you must put it into your Adaptor, P.S if you have an old computer "windows 98" the WIFI may not be recognised, if all fails un install and start again and look very closely at the different stages.

It can be frustrating getting a home network going. The good news is you can contact Belkin Tech Support, and have them help you over the phone.

Your Internet Service Provider can sometimes help as well.

On a new Router, each PC that you add to the network has to be configured, so it may be very simple once you determine what to do.

Also, you need to make sure this PC has a wireless network card. Not all desktop PCs have them, mostly they are standard on Laptop PCs.

I can reccomend on procedure that works for me, its called a "Network Boot".

1. Unplug power to Router, Modem, and shut down your PC.
2. Reconnect power to Modem, wait for all the lights to come on (sync).
3. Reconnect power to Router, wait for all the lights to come on (sync).
4. Boot up your PC.

P.S. Technology is frustrating, remember to breathe : }

Is your network encrypted, if so, you might have to go in under wireless settings and put in the key.

If not, then try re-booting the router and modem at the same time.

If that doesn't work, disable and re-enable your wireless connection on your computer.

It should work now.

my husband and i just went through this. we bought a usb connector from linksys...and had to call them to get everything set up through them..seems i was picking up my neighbors signal over my husbands. since we called them it works great. my pc is older as well...so couldn't install the wireless card and got the usb adaptor as well. once in a while when the signal is low, i just reboot. call the 1 800 number and they will walk you through it

Your best bet is to get an internal wireless card installed. You should have free PCI slots available. These are better at integrating into your system.

specific! That little small card is in all likelihood the community card, you could put in your laptop case. * in case you have one million laptop, purely configure your instant community on top of issues Panel (opt for the vehicle-optaining in any respect techniques) an you will seek for community stations everywhere! (in case you have a definite community provider, ask him first!) * in case you have 2 computers then purchase a router, a instant card for each of your computers and configure your provider's IP (could communicate including your provider returned)!

You probably need her passkey, the WEP key is the only thing that keeps a stranger from accessing her network. Ask her for it.
