I don't know if you can say JUST men; however, I have chosen to offer a response. Perhaps some women may identify a couple of reason in their own lives.
1) INSECURE IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP - believing they can 'before' the spouse/partner admits they've cheated - this gives them a sense of the 'upper hand cuz they cheated first' (a little whacked in thinking, but seriously it's so true)
2) LACK OF SELF-CONFIDENCE - some guys can cheat believing they have to have sex - so they do it 'anonymously' thinking their spouses/partners will never suspect their indiscretions - only problem with this, is it 'always' comes out in the wash - sooner or later.
3) TOTAL DISRESPECT TO THEMSELVES - causing others (their spouses / partners) grief. Some guys just have no ethics or morals and think they are irresistible to everyone else. They disrespect themselves (unknowingly) and end up hurting those they are involved with
4) NON-COMMITTED TO A RELATIONSHIP - for all the reasons above, this is the ultimate thinking in many men who just don't care for themselves - their spouses / partners - their relationship - their own being
Sad but true - these are a few that I can come up with - I'm certain there are many others - but again - I stress it's not only men that are cheating.

Monogamy is a societal requirement, not a natural one.
Males, as a gender, crossing nearly all species, are predisposed to impregnate as many females as possible in order to propagate (keep from extinction) the species.
We aren't, by nature, cheating; but by society, we are.
