People PC dumps me all the time just as I send and e mail or just as I get three aces at online Poker. Does Net Zero do this? Any other thrifty (cheap) ISP's that DON'T dump the subscriber without warning. If they TOLD you it was about to happen it would actually be OK, but , no, it is a mystery action.

I used to have PeoplePC and they will drop your connection if there is not enough data sent from your location after 20 minutes or so. You can go to their help page and find the exact answer to this question. Good luck.

I have to presume you're obtusely saying the line gets dropped while you're dialed in.

The reason it happens is due to line static that interferes with the data communications. The server believes it's lost the connection to your PC so it closes it's end of the connection. If that's the problem, then you'll still have problems with any dialup ISP.

You probably have old phone wiring in your house, or you're using a very, very long phone extension cord, or you're running your phone cord near something that produces an electromagnetic field and it's corrupting the signal.

I would get a high quality modem phone cord (that's sheilded and twisted) to run from your modem to the phone jack, and I'd redo the phone wires from the jack to the main phone line (it's usuallly in the basement).

If that doesn't fix it, then it's the phone company's fault. Probably between the house and neighborhood junction box.

I use to use netzero and it tells you if you are about to be disconnected. But I would go with a dsl service if one is avaibale to you in your area. I only pay $12.95 for earthlink. Or yahoo is $14.95. Or you can get earthlink dail-up for 9.95.
