If you have been vommiting a lot lately, prolonged or vigorous vomitting can cause a tear in the small blood vessels of the throat or lower esophagus. This may cause blood to appear in your vomit.
Vomiting red blood indicates that the bleeding began shortly before you vomited. If the blood is black or appears dark brown and has the texture of old coffee grounds, the blood has been in your stomach for a longer time.
It could also be from some type of cancer or inflammation.
You should definitely get this checked out ASAP!!!!

It's more than likely due to not having anything in your stomach at that time. I wouldn't worry too much if it's only happening on an empty stomach. But blood in your vomit is still reason to be a little concerned, it's not normal for most pregnant mothers. Just wait and see what the docs say.

If it is not a large amount of blood.. I would not worry... It is just from leasions in your esophogus from vomitting so much.... The same thing happen to me...You can try to prevent it by making sure you always have something in your stomach when you vomit...Because if you don't you are vomitting straight up stomach acid...which causes the leasions...So, my advice is to always keep a little food in you at all times...I went through this for about 2-3 months and my baby is doing just fine...She is due in 29 more days...

sounds like u might have a small ulcer. Is the blood bright red or dark red ? I had a small in my throat that healed completely on it's own, I also didn't have any blood in my pee, however with u being pregnant i wouldn't wait to go to the dr, as soon as you throw up blood either go to the emergenvy room or walk into the dr's office trust me they won't turn you away. It could be something a lot more serious.

Blood exiting any open part of our body is not good, even though you say it's a small amount there is still reason for concern, call your Doctor and have your appointment moved up to today if possible. Don't take chances with your health at this stage.

vomiting while pregnant is normal. vomiting blood with pregnant is not normal. you need to call your dr's office today and have them check you out.
You may find blood in your vomit for various reasons, including:
* Ingested blood. If you swallow blood — during a nosebleed, for example — subsequent vomiting may include some of this blood.
* Prolonged or vigorous vomiting. Vomiting may cause a tear in the small blood vessels of the throat or lower esophagus. This may cause blood to appear in your vomit.
* Peptic ulcers. Peptic ulcers are open sores that develop on the lining of the stomach, upper small intestine or esophagus. In addition to feeling a burning pain anywhere from your navel to your breastbone, you may vomit blood that appears red or dark.
* Internal inflammation. Inflamed tissue in the esophagus, stomach (gastritis) or upper part of the small intestine may cause blood to appear in your vomit.
* Cancer. Various types of cancer may cause you to vomit blood, including cancers of the stomach and esophagus.
Vomiting red blood indicates that the bleeding began shortly before you vomited. If the blood is black or appears dark brown and has the texture of old coffee grounds, the blood has been in your stomach for a longer time.
Consult your doctor immediately if you notice blood in your vomit or begin vomiting blood. These symptoms may indicate a serious problem.

If you are having a lot of morning sickness and vomiting, it could be the lining of your esophagus or something being eaten by the acids of the vomit coming up. Kinda like someone with an eating disorder, that's how the doctor can tell if they vomit a lot. Hope that helps and definitely consult your OB when you go.

If you are puking that much and hard enough- you are probably breaking small blood vessels in your throat. I know that's happened to me before.
Mention it to your doctor - maybe get a call in. But don't panic if it's just little streaks or a very small amount.
Good luck and take care!
