Let him/her cry till they go to sleep.

Make sure you have a scheduled nap so they get used to it. My 14 month old has no problem now. I put her in the crib and she lays down no binkie or anything. She just knows its time to sleep.

yeah, it might be teething...however perhaps your nine month historic does not want as so much sleep for the period of the day. How many naps do you place him down for? My daughter is nine one million/two months historic and not too long ago went from 3 naps an afternoon to 2 naps an afternoon. One nap at round nine:30am and a further at round two:30pm. We additionally attempt to feed her three foods an afternoon of youngster meals, and we best supply her four bottles of components an afternoon. We supply her the quantity that our health care professional recommends of 26 ouncesof components an afternoon. At meal occasions, we supply her water in a sippy cup. If my daughter does not relax for a sleep inside five mins...then I take her out of her crib on account that it is commonly anything else that is bothering her. Anyway, well success!

I have had so many people ask me how I got mine to take their naps. Simple, put them down and walk away. Don't give in to the tantrum no matter what. Don't let them see you but keep an eye on them until they get used to this method just for safety sake but it has never failed me. I have had a couple of tough little ones that fought everything. I have found that many parents feel they are neglecting the kids if they don't react to the cries right away. They just want attention and if you continue to jump each time they will control you. good luck.

Some times it is more furstrating to try to force them into napping. you might try some soothing music and just let him/her lay in their bed. Sometime baby's won't sleep if they aren't warm enough.
Also a baby sleeps better with a full tummy. have a nice warm bottle and a cuddle with mommy. If you've got the time to lay down with baby the two of you could nap together. just snuggle baby up with you under the covers on your bed and close your eyes... in 10-15 minutes baby should be sleeping soundly.

You can't force them to nap. Just can't do it.

I just keep trying every 30 min until he does. Sometimes if I put him in his playpen with the tv on he will lie down and sleep. But not for long, so that doesn't really work.

We always had to put them in the car and drive around the block a couple times, putting them in their carseat on top of a running drier does it sometimes too.

I would try soft music and laying down with him. Just make it very comfortable for him. So he knows that you are not going anywhere. Babies like to feel secure.

Try a warm lavender bath. It's very relaxing and babies most always sleep well after a bath anyway.
