Screaming in the customers' faces to get out of my workplace and then punching my boss in the gut and telling him to get a dang life and then puking all over the walls

There are several very important things that should be weighed, but no one is more important than the other. These are often Money, Type of work, Responsibility, Commute, and Workplace Environment. Odds are, each will be a give and take. It may pay $100,000 a year, but you have a 3 hr commute stop-and-go traffic, with a bunch of people you have nothing in common with, all of which mess things up often, but you have to be responsible for them. Would you take that? Highly stressful, and eventually, you would get used to the money. Then again, there may be another job paying $50,000, two minutes away, where you enjoy the company of your coworkers, and have an acceptable amount of responsibility. What is the most important to you?

That I am compensated for the work and time that I put in, that I am given feedback about my job, that I am given the proper tools to complete my job, that I enjoy and feel challenged with my job, that I am able to lead a balanced life between work, love and play. Most importantly is that I am a valued member of a team.

the most important thing for me is If I am happy, that can be with what I am doing, and with how I work with. Money is not an issue, becuse if you are not happy you tend to take time off, you build stress, and either quit, end up with bad health, or go Postal.

I have to agree, money is a major motivation, and being able to work independently is important.

It's also nice to be able to communicate with the boss without having to go through a chain of command.
