I am a mother of three sons who work up to 70 hours a week just to tie up loose ends week to week. My husband hasn't worked since June. He refuses to work. My kids will not have a Christmas now. My heart is in such need of desperation and aches so bad. I don't know what to do. How do I convince the young ones that there isn't a Santa?

You don't. There are a lot of organizations out there that can help you. Get the phone book, check w/churches, call the abuse shelters, etc. and find someone who can help you.

This is so sad...I think maybe your husband does have a problem and needs some help. As far as Christmas, you don't have to convince the children that there is a Santa if they in fact do believe...but there are plenty of organizations that help needy families like people have already stated. If all else fails and you come up empty handed at Christmas time, there are other ways to celebrate like with hand made projects, fruit, candy, things like that. That is what I would do in your situation. You definitely shouldn't take the magic from them because of the materialism associated with Christmas. I wish you the best!

You can apply for financial help and toys for your kids thru non-profit organizations. You can find a job with 40 hours thru employment agencies according to your experiences. Rent a movies to the kids and watch them for the good deeds. I am so sorry about your husband is pretty rebellious to his own familiy. You can start looking for non-profit free legal referrals and considering a divorce pending . He can wake up and see the consequences such as paying child suppport.....

Tell them Santa had problems with retaining his employees thru the off season and his production was too low to be able to give toys to everyone this year.
BTW...Tell ole hubby there that if he doesn't start to provide for his family, there's someone out there that will.

I suggest you go to Christmas at your parents home if possible. And then stay there. Divorce the bum unless he gets a job by January; after that he will hopefully come through one day w/ spousal and child support.

Every child should have a Christmas. Contact your local Social Services or your Church. Good Luck.

I would suggest you don't tell the the children about Santa....let them enjoy the feeling.....when they get older they will find out on their own......now as far no christmas.....there are alot of places to buy lower priced toys.....young children don't look at amounts....its the feeling of opening something on christmas......

talk to your local StVincents or Sally Ann, kick your bum of a husband out on his good for nothing butt. I did and never looked back, he's still a bum and i'm now happily married to a real man.
