Perhaps the easiest way would be to pick a day when you have both done something energetic - and then suggest that you perhaps BOTH need to go home and shower / get changes so you can BOTH be fresh for the evening.
The fact that you ARE clean is academic, it will come over not NEARLY as blunt as suggesting that just SHE needs to go and wash.
If this proves to be a "one-day solution", then next time do a similar trick and then say something along th lines of "Why can't they make a deoderant that means you don't have to shower every day if you are too busy".
Sooner or later, she should get the hint unless she is a little "slow on the uptake"

Very gently.. You will need to be very nice and try to coach her into trying to new products and such. For Christmas why not put together a girl type gift basket. Put a bunch of stuff to pamper her with, but stick to one scent and go from there. Buy the new secret body sprays and get the matching deodorant this way it looks like you bought the set instead of saying wow you stink.. Good Luck..

I would just tell her about a new moisturizing soap I just got, or a good shampoo, etc. Ask her if she wants to try it, cause you love it. She may just try it. If it's her clothes, tell her about a new laundry soap that you love the smell of and suggest that she might like it to. If this does not work, talk to her privately and tell her in a nice way that she has body odor. She may thank you .

well if you've been friends with her for 4yrs now then you should be able to tell her look as a friend your starting to stink!

if she a good friend , you just tell her it will hurt but let her know that you did it because you are her friend and its better to hear it from a friend then someone or a guy she my like.

Drop small hints.
Like when she smells good (decent), compliment her a LOT so she'll want to try to smell good again.
