Hi, I also have this problem, but all I did was go round the shops and if i saw something that made me think of that person, I got it.
The only other way is ask, I know any people with friends dont like to do this affraid they will say something expensive, but surely they wont. Then at least you know they will like and use what you get them. If there your friends you should have no problem in knowing what they like. But some people are really hard to buy for or have already got everything.
I would recommend for friends smellies and chocolates. But if they dont like smellies or chocolates then a novelty gift of somesort there are loads of these going around now.

People just seem to have everythnig now don't they! Without meaning to sound contrived, I am considering some of the charity gifts this year for my friends who don't need much themselves. Or, you could look at a magazine subscription?

Homemade food (simple cookies ) crafts(what you are good at maybe a picture frames add your creation) or go to dollar stores and stuff stocking like toothbrush, little lotion,pen,mints,a cup , small bag of nuts , and/or movie tickets.. They like practical stuff.

necklace, picture of both or group of friends framed, dvds, cds, lush gift set (smelly stuff), gift vouchers, clothes.
