I just found out I am pregnant last Thursday. I am really excited (except for the fact that I just started a new job) and I am already trying to find child care and figure out what I need for the nursery. But what did you realize was something you would have liked to know or have that would have made dealing with a newborn easier? I just want to be prepared, so that I can just enjoy my maternity leave.

The most important thing is a warm loving home, all else will follow. Good luck and congratulations.

Well you just found out that you are pregnant so start with what you need during pregnancy. Take prenatal vitamins, that is important, some may make you sick, if so try to take them at a different time of day or switch brands. I absolutely loved my body pillow without it I don't know how I would have slept. It makes getting comfy so much easier. If you plan on breastfeeding a boppy pillow really helps with that. For baby, lots and lots of receiving blankets, diapers, onesies, sleepers. Mylicon drops are a lifesaver if your baby gets gassy. Good Luck and Congrats!!

well know now that you will not get any sleep when you come home from the hospital. so take advantage of the rest you get there. also make sure you have alot of diapers and wipes. they go through so much the first few months. you will need lots of blanckets even though it will be summer. and onezs mine went through about four sets a day. know that you don't have to be afraid that you will break the baby you won't just be careful thats all. as long as you do what you know to do and take good care of yourself and your baby things will be fine. good luck and congrats mommy.

I dont go for abortions so you should have the baby depending on how old you are finding things out there to help you with your baby isnt that hard you just need to know who to talk to and where to look. I think having a baby is a wonder gift so the best thing to do is hope and the good things will arrive to you.

That's it, everything else I could have done without.

Babies don't need much.

Very large playpen for learning to stand (playpen is much softer than hardwood)
Good quality stroller.

Congratulations! The best advice I got was, "Trust yourself, you know more than you think you do."
The Fisher Price Aquarium swing was great for us.

Most important: Make sure you drink lots and lots of water while you're pregnant and walk (at least) daily.

A crib, car seat, diapers, wipes and cloths. If you are going to use formula that would be good to.
