One of my guy friends is being accused of being the father of this girls kid. She going on 8 months now and he wants a DNA test and is willing to pay for it cause he doesn't think it's his. Is there anything he can do if she refuses to give him a paternity test? And does anyone know about how much it will cost to have the test done at the hospital.

Ps. We live in TN

He can contest being the father, and the court will order her to either drop him as the childs provider, or to allow the test to be done.

She cannot just take him to court and expect to gain child support if there is any question as to him being the father, the court will demand proof, especially if he questions the child being his.

He can get a court order for a DNA test once the baby is born. He can call teh hospital and find out where the testing is done. In Canada...its $600 can...that includes the mother , baby, and 1 prospetive father...any more men to be tested is another $200 each. If she won't go for testing then he has nothing to worry about, cause I bet she knows its not his either.

Tell your friend to get a lawyer and have a judge order her to allow a paternity test. Most states make the male pay for the test and its rather pricey. If she is not wanting him to take a DNA test she might be hidding the fact that he is not the father

Before he pays anything he must follow the steps:
1)Is there any possibility that the baby is his? If there is just wait for the baby to get here. Do not embarrass the mother and remain decent.

2)Contact a lawyer to get details of how to respond if she continues to say no to the test.

3) let the mother know his intentions so that she won't jump to conclusions.

This way he is responsible and no ones feelings get hurt.
wish Him good luck for me.

if he files for custody the court will make them give her a dna test to prove that the child is his before he gets custody. i know he does not want custody but if she does not make it easy on him then he should do this.
