We all have bad dreams sometimes, take it for what it was, a bad dream and if he was really appologetic, it means that he didn't mean for it to happen. Just drop it and enjoy your time with him.

My husband fights off bad guys in his dreams all the time and has hit me on more than one occasion. Thank God I've never gotten a black eye or a broke nose. It's not a real hit, but more like his hand plopping down on my face. Waking me up from a dead sleep. Eventually it stopped, hasn't happened in a very long time. Try changing what he eats or drinks right before going to bed. That could help.

My dad used to twitch in his sleep all of the time, he actually hit my mom once and gave her a black eye. He felt so bad and he has never hit her.
His dream could mean lots of things but it is only a dream, maybe he is stressed at work or something, usually when I have nightmares there is stress in my life somewhere. Just talk to him about it. Tell him that it worries you.

This just happened to me from my man but it was hard hits on top of the head. He was fighting off someone stabbing him and was hitting because he heard me screaming (which was me waking up screaming in reality) we decided to switch sides of the bed so his aim is away. He almost punched me in his sleep a few years ago and luckily I ducked. He too is not violent but has nightmares like this on occasion. I don't know what the dream meant but if it continues something else may be going on... we are waiting to see ourselves... Good luck and know you aren't the only one out there!

According to dream interpretation, fighting in a dream usually symbolizes anger and confusion that comes about in times of change. If nothing is changing in his life, it may be a clue that a change is needed or that he wants to change internally. Fighting with strangers usually represents an internal struggle. Fighting with familiar people may be an extension of daily life and a reflection on your relationship with them.

To dream that you cannot breathe, indicates that you are feeling exhausted.

This is more common than you think! My ex hit me twice (during sleep), after a recurring dream involving being chased by violent people). I also, punched my current spouse (years ago) after a vivid dream about their doing drugs and cheating on me!

Some people can become more violent and (very rarely) even KILL in their sleep, so if it happens again, he should get tested for abnormal sleep-behavior AND counseling about the dreams.

Some medications, like certain anti-depressants, and drugs (esp. alcohol and PCP) can cause violent dreams and/or blackouts, so ask him about that, if you think it's a possibility.

It was a dream, not every dream means something- If there was any meaning to it, your husband would already know it. If not it will be clarified later in life. Sounds like a normal weird dream though-

Last night I had my own weird dream that didnt mean anything but had me waking up in tears.

Probably just a bad dream. If it was an accident don't think too much on it. It's best not to dwell on bad dreams.

We all have these dreams but it is a direct result of some underlying fustration. Ask him if he is stessed at work or if someone is giving him ****. I think it is stress and he should control it by yoga or just hanging out with friends.

i've done that to my hubby, it's just a dream. maybe he had a dream where he had to defend his family etc and had to hit someone to stop them from trying to hurt the one they cared about,... at least that was mine.
dreams are just dreams, they dont mean you're violent or not.
