Of course. It is widely recognized that integers can only be symbolically represented in our reality, never themselves actually concretely existing in our reality. You could say that the whole of mathematics is such evidence.

No, there is no evidence. There is only hypothesis of more than four dimensions at best.

In its attempt to unify the four fundamental forces of our universe (weak and strong atomic forces, gravity, and electro-magnetic), string/M theory folks have invented higher dimensions to make the math work out right. But, thus far, no experiments have been performed to test the validity of string/M theory.

The so-called large hadron collider (LHC), which is a work in progress, has several experiments designed to test some aspects of string theory. Positive results would not disprove the higher dimensions possibility. Negative results would disprove the higher dimensions as speculated by string/M theory. The physics world is anxiously awaiting the first experiments via the LHC.

the math behind string theory suggest many dimensions but string theory has yet to gain to much approval from the scientific community

What do you mean by "other dimensions of being"? Currently, most scientists would recognize four dimensions (three spatial and one temporal meaning x,y,z and t).
