I have actually watched my copy of this movie in the summer when I felt down. I think the appeal is universial - even tho' it is a story about a young boy in the 1940's - we all remember feeling the same fears, hopes, being bullied and having our parents make what seemed like unreasonable demands. Yeah, there was a lot of truths in that little movie.

It's a cute movie, but the best part is in the end when the family is dining in the Chinese restaurant and the waiters are trying to sing Christmas carols!

Yes. It's one of the best Christmas movies out there. I think it's funny how the story involves the imagination of Ralphie. Like his mother and his teacher chanting, "You'll shoot your eye out." My favorite is Ralphie is convinced the fate of the world could hang in the balance, and the secret message was, "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine."

The best Christmas movie ever made. Everyone can identify with being obsessed with a particular toy as a kid. Nothing's worse than opening all your presents and the one thing you wanted, you didn't get.

I don't know why I like this movie so much. I watch it everytime it's played, even when it's replayed after watching it once. I hope to turn my kids on to it. I think it just gives kids ( and adults) hope of getting what they really want for christmas.

I love it. I like the part where he was dressed in the bunny costume.
Christmas Vacation is better.

Yes...I watched it last night in fact! I think the 2 best lines are:
"He looks like a deranged Easter Bunny" and "He looks like a pink nightmare!"
I love it!
