what is the ideal solution given all the competing interests and deep-seated feelings between Israel and Palestine? ie. as to the degree each side recognizes the other's right to exist, and the degree to which it feels the other side respects its own right to exist.

Both parties need to realize that there are also middle ways to deal with the situation, both,Palestinians and Israelis, need to learn that sometimes,in order to make things work, they need to make some compromises. The Israelis must withdraw to the borders they had before 1967 and Palestinians must understand that Israel is not going anywhere,at least as long as it has US support...
Israel must learn once and for all that is not above the law,so it must respect the resolutions that UN voted...The UN must force Israel to apply the resolution and allow Palestine to have an independent state...
After the Oslo accord the PLO recognized Israel's right to exist in the borders before 1967...Israel agreed to recognize Yasser Arafat as its partner in peace talks, and agreed to recognize Palestinian autonomy in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which remained under Israeli occupation...

There is no realistic solution, not in the near future.

Israeli-Palestinian conflict is only a part of a bigger Arab-Israeli conflict, which itself is only a part of the clash of civilizations. And this clash is bloody wherever Muslims are involved.

Arabs don't want Jews in the Land of Islam. Period. The conflict is not about territory, it's about ideology. You cannot appease Arabs with territory any more than you could have appeased the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. That's why Oslo and Camp David (2000) failed and why the "Road Map" and similar initiatives lead nowhere, except maybe to buying some time for Arabs.

But even if Israel were destroyed, the conflict with the Western World would continue. Muslims are already a significant and violent minority in important European countries, like UK, France, Germany, or Spain (remember the Mohammad cartoons?). Their population grows rapidly, while the indigenous European population is shrinking. They are already trying to impose their views and lifestyles on the rest, and will do it even more vehemently so as they grow stronger.

this has been going on for over 60 years and it has not stopped.

I can only conclude that the two cannot live together.

the only solution is for one to leave. Since there is no one (or group) who will take 6 million Jews.

I suggest that Israel pay $200,000 to each Palestinian family to move out and give up any claims to the land. All you need to do now is convince nations like Saudi Arabia to take them.

Israel has the money to do it, and if done over a period of 10 years or so you could have peace.

Muslims could combat with nonviolence. dazzling now their basically weak point is they use violence and scare procedures- which on no account get them any outcomes and provides Israel an excuse to do something. Muslims could set an occasion for Israel and create a functioning, noncorrupt, secular state of Palestine the place all of us is loose to peacefully prepare their faith. a non secular government is on no account effective.

Pay the Palestinians $10,000 each and move them to the next Arab/European country that censures Israel.

First off accept that there is no Palestine
Second send the Palestinians back to Jordan where they came from and who doesn't want them back
Israel should Bulldoze the occupied territories flat and start again
