We didn't. If you remember correctly a recount of the vote in Florida, if the whole state had been counted, would have given the election to Al Gore. There is also a strong possibility of voter fraud in Ohio in the 2004 election with the electronic voting machines favoring the Republicans in their errors. I guess it comes to down to this: you can fool some of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. The 2006 elections spoke volumes.

First time we were fooled by the lies and the decption.

The second time we were feeling macho, thanks to the embedded journalists.

The third time (mid term election), we corrected ourselves -- most of us came back to our senses and were ashamed of the atrocities we have committed, a few didn't want to be macho any more because it hurts too much. And our pride, the young generation, went to the polls and crushed those idiots who lied to us.

We, the great American nation, has shown the courage to correct our mistake.

i don't believe he was actually elected the first time- it helps to have Daddy's Friends on your side. The second time he scared America with all the terror threats. Have you noticed there hasn't been any since the election. Except that time England and Pakistan stopped some terrorist, but other than that none. hmmm makes you wonder..................

We use an outdated system, which incorrectly nullifies the popular vote. Also, Clinton didn't help with all the controversy at the end of his term.

America has always suffered from something called anti-intellectualism. Simply stated, we the people want someone just as dumb as us running the country. It's sad really.
