i am currently married and pregnant by husband. He wants to deny paternity until DNA testing is done . Does he have to sign a paternity paper in the hospital. Or can it wait until the child is tested? Additionally whose last name should the child get during the waiting period?

If you're married and you know you're pregnant by him, why would he deny paternity? Why wouldn't you give the baby his last name? Seems odd to me. I'm pregnant by my husband and it's never even come to thought what our baby's last name will be, it will be our last name!

Have you cheated on him ever? Why does he question paternity?

I thought the mother claimed the father on the birth certificate, since she's the one who fills it out, and the one who's claimed and contest it, and the certificate can be amended later.

Your husband is an asss by the way. I dont care what the circumstances were, He's married to you, and has been married to you while you're pregnant, had sex with you, and been your husband, theres absolutely no reason why he should deny this child, even if by some fluke it werent his.

That would be giving you up, and the child up, and giving up the life he's created with you.

He sounds like a real keeper.

sure, a third get at the same time can 'contest' the paternity, and with the DNA testing that's achieved immediately it will be 'basic' to make certain even if you're the 'organic and organic be certain' or no longer ... yet go ahead and signal that certificate ... because by doing that you're going to inform that child that you CARE about IT even if you're it truly is 'organic and organic father' or no longer ... and which may be the biggest element contained in the international to that child later.

As crazy as it sounds, at least in Ohio, regardless of who the babies daddy really is the womans husbands name must be placed on the birth certificate....even if they are seperated but not divorced...
The name given should be what you are comfortable with, you can have the last name changed later for a nominal fee. If you are certain that he is the father then put his last name for the child...if not then you need to figure it out quick.

One he can right of the back ask for the paternity test and not sign the birth certificate so you will need name the child after yourself and make him pay for the name change charges if i were you i would not let him see the baby just for being such an ***

If you are married, the husband is considered to be the father until it is proven otherwise. They do not present you with paternity papers.

If he is denying paternity, it sounds like you have bigger problems. I'd give the child your name.

i live in Wisconsin and i'm married and just had a baby and there were no papers for him to sign the people from vital records jusy come and ask for info for the brith cert. and would include his info. if indeed he is the father....they just assume that if your married he's the father unless mentioned otherwise i guess you could ask for a test but you can give your child any last name you want.

Who cares, really if he is fighting with you about this now do you really want his money or time later. Get a life go out and find a job and stop expecting men to do everything for you.
