You'll find by the time your 21 your body will change shape anyway. A good example of this is Jermaine O'neal, when he came into the league he was one the skinniest players i've ever seen but by the time he went to the indiana pacers he was huge. All he did was train to become stronger not bigger so he kept his speed, adding strength to speed helped him become powerful something all bballers need. Visit vertcoach.com they have some good articles on how to build Power. My tip 50 yard parachute sprints.

You want to start with light weight training....if you want to be quick and explosive, you don't want to over do it on weights...don't focus on 210. Focus on what is the correct weight for you to move in maximum capacity in the basketball court. You want strength, not muscle.

For drills on explosiveness and quickness, it has alot to do with proper balance and footwork. You want to be quick but not hurry, otherwise, you will be called for traveling more than you like. Oddly enough, the best offesive drill for quickness is a defensive drill. It is the defensive stance drill. It is when you slide your feet with out it touching each other and you go zig-zag up and down the court. This teaches your feet and legs to move faster in very low position, in turn, makes it easier when you are in a triple threat position.

Then, you have to practice the triple threat move the jab step and dribble and shoot is one drill. Then, you can do the up-fake, dribble and shoot drill (in a triple threat position). Remember, be in control...it would seem like you are moving slow, but that is ok. The more you practice and your body becomes more use to it, the quicker you will be.

Good luck.
