I have never really gotten horny except in the very beginning of my relationships. I am ALWAYS having problems down there (including some problems with bowel movement, which I am working on). The problems are usually itching & discharge- not always yeast. My bf and I haven't had sex in approx 2 months, but not normal sex in prob. almost 2 years. This is killing our relationship and my bf is giving up, but we never really tried to fix anything (other than me going to various GYN's and not getting anywhere). I suggested we set certain days and times aside for just us to be intimate, even if I can only give him oral, which I think will help. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ease my anxiety (since I always know something bad comes with sex) or anything to help me get aroused? We have grown so far apart because of this and its driving us both nuts. All advice is welcome from medical to sexual advice. Please help!!!

Thank you
~ A 23 year old longing to have a normal sex life

it would appear that you have an infection.
is the discharge clear, white or yellow?
"not always yeast", ok. what else is it?
is the pain deep or superficial, outside or inside.
is there dryness...
is it worse when you are stressed or uptight.
is it better or worse at certain times of the day.

you need to first make sure you dont have an infection like trichomonas, yeast, hpv, herpes, or pid or the like. your health is the first thing.

if there is recurring infections, i believe there are issues that need to be sorted out.

if it is more psychological, then i would learn how to deal with the emotions by reading up on
painful intercourse or maybe work with a therapist.

Go to the doctor and get a pap smear. If you don't have a regular doctor, make an appointment at a free clinic.

Have the doctor look at your sample under the microscope and have them give you medicine to take care of the itching right away. It may just be a yeast infection. You can't tell just by noticing discharge.

Make sure you are using water based lubricants and latex-free condoms. You may be having an allergic reaction, too so ask the doctor for an allergy test.

Try a toy in the bedroom that is small and quiet. It may help you get in the mood.

Stress levels can attribute to chemical balance issues. Try to cut down on sugars and drink lots of water. There is also a tablet called Acidophilus that will help with your bowel movements and regulating bacteria in your intestines.

I hope you feel better soon. I had similar issues, but you can overcome this!

Happy holidays.

I'm 23, and although i dont have pain or anyother of the stomach churning things you describe, i can honestly say i have no libedo myself... not so much i've gone off it... i just seem to have no interest...

Theres a few things i can suggest, and they may be a bit off the mark, because i dont want any details thank you...

Try making foreplay a bit more stretched out... have a bit of fun... try a sex game of some description... that'll get you in the mood in a relaxed atmosphere...

do you possibly thing that sex has become a bit of a chore?

i dont know... sometimes if you take a stab in the dark you'll hit something...

I would say that you sit and talk with your bf. Take this time to get closer emotionally and never mind about the physical part of the relationship. Just relax and the hormones should come back and keep talking to your doc about the situation about the discharge and itching

as long as you have ruled out STD, strongly suggest that you may want to consult a therapist. Sounds like you have a pretty serious emotional block, and until you deal with it, your problem will not only persist it will get worse. Your statement "since I always know something bad comes with sex", is very revealing. Get yourself a therapist and work out your issues with sex.

Maybe you should get checked for STD's??? Did you talk to your doctor about all your problems, I mean lay it all on the table for them?? Good Luck!
