Why do you care if she wants what you want?

I am sure the marketing people are very happy that girls copy each other on their Christmas lists.

If you want to feel miserable and upset that she might get something that you want and that you might not get what you want, then go ahead!

Comparing yourself to others is pointless as there will always be someone better off or worse off than you.

If you really want the Ipod more than anything, tell whomever you gave the list to that that is the gift you really want. If you don't get it, return all your other presents and get cash and save up your money to buy the Ipod. Then you will have the gift of your choice.

Some people take offense when someone returns a present. That's their problem. A present is a gift freely given and the recipient is free to do whatever she wants with it. If it brings her plesure to give it away or return it, that's her choice. If someone is offended, then they didn't freely give the gift but had strings attached.

Nothing. She is just trying to fit in and not be an odd ball. Lots of kids do this. My sister did this for many years.
