I have a roommate and we both share the computer. Right now, all we have to do is turn on the computer and we are immediately at Internet Explorer. How do I set this up so we each have to enter a password to get on, and even anyone else who happens to go on it?

You can set password to your current user by going to

Start>Control Panel>User Accounts

then select the username, then click on 'create a password' and follow the instructions to complete the process.

From now on, the computer will prompt for password each time you login to the computer.

If you two want to have separate user accounts you can also create them and set your own passwords to have personalized access to the computer.

Um there is not any such element as "prevalent" abode windows lol. besides, there are 2 approaches. First one: pass to : initiate menu-> administration panel-> consumer account. then you definately will se set password. So in simple terms set it, retype it and there you pass. 2d: initiate menu-> run->style cmd (which will open a black window)->style internet consumer and press enter-> style internet consumer administrator * (yea wit the super call)-> style the password you opt for, and retype it, press enter and there you pass. in simple terms bear in suggestions that it doesent coach any of the letters you style so for you to comprehend what are you typing. good luck, bye!
