Gas Chamber : Five states still have it as an alternative or have people convicted to die in the gas chamber so they are still allowed to choose it. They are Wyoming, California, Maryland, Missouri and Arizona but it has not been used as an execution method since 04 March 1999.

Three States still have a Firing Squad option (but leathal injection is the preferred methos) they are Utah, Oklahoma, and Idaho. Utah is the only state remaining where there are people convicted to die by firing squad (4 on Death Row)

They are still used in some countries. The first link lists all the methods of capital punishment ever used. The second link is a map of the US, with a link for each state telling you which state has which method of punishment.
Specifically, the gas chamber is used in Arizonia, Wyoming, Missouri, and Maryland. While firing squads are used in Idaho, Utah, and Oklahoma. The most popular method is lethal injection, but others include electrocution and hanging.

I don't know whether they use gas chambers, firing squad or the electric chair anymore. Lethal injection is used in the United States.

In Utah, the condemned has a choice, to be executed by firing squad or by lethal injection.

If he refuses to make a choice, the judge is bound by law to select lethal injection.

I think North Carolina offers a choice between the gas chamber or lethal injection, but I'm not certain.

Do you remember the documentary film, "DEATH OF A PRINCESS", smuggled out of Saudi Arabia?

She was executed by pistol, but her lover was beheaded.

The electric chair is still used in some states, although I think each of those states offers the option of being executed by lethal injection.

In any case, the condemned generally suffers an easier demise than he or she gave their victim(s).
