The Kennedy Curse refers to a series of unfortunate events that have happened to the Kennedy family. While these events could have happened to any family, some have referred to the continual misfortune of the Kennedy family as a curse. The improbability of so many repeated instances of misfortune within one family, especially two high-profile political assassinations, has raised questions as to whether the curse results from sheer bad luck or from coordinated violence against the Kennedy family.

Being a high-profile, politically involved and very wealthy family has always been a hazardous position. At least 3 other Presidents have been assassinated, as have numerous Senators and candidates for office in our history - and the US has a relatively peaceful political process. Aviation is an inherently hazardous activity, as is skiing. That, and the Kennedy clan is fairly extensive, including many who have *not* come to significant mishap. The 'curse' is largely an illusion created by our human tendency to look for patterns and causes for the inexplicable.

Teddy Kennedy, on the other hand, *IS* a curse. He brought his 'misfortune' on himself, killed an innocent woman in the process, got away with it and has been elected to the Senate 7 times. Most of us will never be so 'lucky.'

The tragedies of the Kennedy family is brought on by their own bad choices and decisions. Also, anyone in a political office is subject to be assassinated.

Actually, the Kennedy curse is that America will be cursed as long as the corrupt and useless Kennedys befoul the government.

I don't think so. I rather believe that a high profile family is more exposed to things that can go wrong. A cyclist is more likely to be in a road accident than a paraplegic.

No, there is no such thing. When they foolishly, bad things happen. Now, sometimes, bad things happen, such as the assassinations of John and Bobby. However, they were in the spotlight and they knew they had enemies.

No way. There is no such thing as a curse. What has happened to any of the Kennedy's they have brought on to themselves.

No, they're just so irresponsible with their lives. Aside from JFK and RFK, the other Kennedys have been careless with their lives and have paid the ultimate price.

They are all arrogant and incompetent spoiled snobs who can't drive or pilot. Joe, Jr. and John, Jr. both crashed planes; JFK wrecked his PT boat, and Teddy drove off a bridge.
