Oh God, like crazy. My daughter just got and got rid of lice.
She went to a pool party and sleep over - after picking her up I took her for a hair cut and the stylist pointed it out to me. We were horrified, wondering where and when she got it. WE had to call the mom who hosted the sleepover and she had to call the other girls' moms. We also notified the school.
We spent all afternoon on Saturday shampooing, and nit-picking her hair. Now I know where that expression "Nit-picking" comes from. I've done 20 loads of laundry, vaccuumed the house, the furniture and the car. cleaned out the closet that the coats hang in. Talk about thorough - we've gone over the entire house.
When she got to school today she was so embarrased and didnt' want to go to class. We saw the school nurse, the principal and the guidance counsellor - all of who were very reassuring.
I'm still itching - so is she, although she's been okayed by the nurse and there's not a nit, egg, louse or anything else on her.

yes when my son came home with a note that lice was going around at daycare. My head itched while reading the work "lice" just like it is itching now.

I have never had head lice.
But just someone talking about it makes my head itch.

I think everyone gets itchy at the thought of having bugs. My cat had fleas once and I was sooo itchy.
Then she got worms.
I haven't ever thought I really had fleas though -- just itchy at the thought of it.

Ewww. I hate when people mention nasty critters. Especially ones that are hard to get rid of. Makes me look like a crackhead scratching all crazy

I didn't just THINK it.....I actually HAD them.
My cat had fleas, and I learned then that there's no truth in the story fleas only reside to animals.....they liked ME as well. Yuk!!!

Just gives me the urge to scratch, even at the mention of them. I get over it pretty quickly though.
