serious answers please this questions been bugging me a while i know it may sound stupid!

They used cloth for napkins and washed them out for re-use. It wasn't that long ago that women were still doing that.

I totally think about this crap..I know we r sick..LOL... Anyway..my grandma b4 she passed was really open w/ us & she told me stories on how they re-used the cloth & also how they use 2 make a "pad" looking thing with left over PLATANO leaves,,letting it harden in the Dominican Republic 100 degree sun!!!!!YUK but true..The thing is she told me women did not bleed as heavy & as often back in the day...so it was not that bothersome... LUCKY BITCHES..Jesus time...sorry cannot help u there..

Then a woman was considered unclean when her flowers or woman hood [ period as we call it] was upon her. And if she touched anything it was considered unclean. Also if anyone touched her or anything she touched while her flowers was on her ,they was unclean also. After her period she had to go for purification for so many days to be clean, same thing for the person that touched her or touched anything she had touched.
