I believe that the problem lies in the fact that there could never be an absolute zero; therefore zero in it's designated place in the number line could never be the sum of any thing. That I believe is the nature of the problem. Zero is actually none of something not nothing. So zero plus zero would actually equal two none of somethings.
It is my belief that this could be fixed by replaceing zero with an overlapping double infinity representing an event horizen in the center of the number line. Subsequently adding a positive and a negative zero on either side.

ten would not have to be changed. but you are correct that I believe an overhaul of the mathematic language is due.
The world is not flat, the Earth is not the center of the universe, gravity is a force, naked singulaities do exist.(ask now shirtless Steven Hawkings) Infinity has to come from somewhere. Picture the number line as a NUMBER CIRCLE.

Why is the naked singularity a fault with mathematics? Why not a fault with, for example, a theory of gravitation? Or with a system of equations?

For example, the equation:

y = 17/(x^2+x-6)

has two singularities.
One at x=-3 and the other at x=+2.

Their existence can be shown without using a zero (it can also be shown using a zero).

(as x approaches +2 from below):
x=1.95 y= -68.68...
x=1.96 y =-85.68...
x=1.97 y=-114.02
etc.

(as x approaches +2 from above)
x= 2.05 y=+67.33
x= 2.04 y=+84.33
x= 2.03 y=+112.65

In practice, we often interpret the equation as "dividing by 0" when we force x=2. In math, the limit test would tell us that the function does not exist at x=2, because the limit does not exist (if a limit exist, it must always be the same, regardless of the direction you use -- in higher dimensions, it is more fun because there are an infinite number of directions that you can take to approach a point).

Most scientists believe in the Cosmic Censor Hypothesis, which prevents naked singularities from occurring. So far, all attempts, via thought experiments of course, have failed to create a naked singularity.

Well if you did that, you'd have to rewrite just about every branch of mathematics on earth. Just about any space of numbers or functions needs zero or a null vector for it to exist and function. How would your write the number 10 ??

There is no fault. The fact that some things exist only in "imaginary" doesnt mean they cannot be used for calculations or cancel one another out.

A naked singularity is nonexistence so it would have to be #0!

A naked single is conspicuous.
