Never going to happen to me... I have changed over the years, I no longer have the excitement over "what am I going to get this year" I've became more in what can I give to people.. I love giving gifts to my family and friends that they really want, but probably wouldn't buy it themselves. It's fun to see the enjoyment in someone else's eyes.

I am certainly losing my Christmas spirit this year. I have so much to celebrate too, my first house, a new husband, I'm not a single mom anymore and I can provide a happier life for my kids. I have still enjoyed decorating the house and I had a small get-together, but I am sooooo SICK of the commercialism and my kids acting so spoiled that it really does take something special away. It seems to be less and less about the birth of Christ with each passing year. That is very sad. This world need MORE, not less of Christ!

Christmas lost some of it's sparkle for me when I was around the age of 16 then I regained that sparkle again when I watched my children enjoying the holiday. I lost it again when they were grown and gone from the house... it just didn't seem the same. Now that my grandchildren have come along it is so much fun again. I think it has a lot to do with what makes the "SPIRIT" for you. For me it is my family and watching them and creating traditions.

Christmas is a stressful time of year. Honestly, the only reason I am enjoying Christmas this year-MY KIDS. They still believe in Santa. I ran around trying to find the perfect gift for every one and all things are so expensive now. It is always hectic for us. We have to make sure we go see everyone. I always feel like I am so rushed, I can't enjoy it that much. I am thankful for my family though. I will continue to do the rushing around though. I don't want to take them for granted. You never know what will happen tomorrow.

I love Christmas and really want to get into it, but I live the scrooge and he is making it really hard.

Christmas always meant allot to me as a kid and as I grew up. Then my baby boy died on Dec20th 1987 and I did not celebrate for a long time. I started getting back to it after a while and now I have a wonderful 4 yr old daughter and I want so badly for it to be happy but my roommate is really bringing me down. I am not giving up though, for my daughter and for myself.

What do you mean by "not caring?" If you mean not feeling that "anticipation" that came with childhood, I would say as soon as you knew Santa was a legend, not a real person. If you mean no longer caring about the birth of christ, as soon as you no longer believed in christ. If you are talking about the Christmas "spirit," I would say never stop caring. It's bigger than all of us.

Since the christmas spirit is basically consumerism / commercialism ....the sooner one loses it the better.
Don't give me the song and dance about getting together with family and having a nice warm meal.
Christ wasn't born so I could visit my parents.
I could do that without Jesus being born and dying a torturous death!
