i have a coin collection and some of the coins are old.
where could i find the value of the old coins.

It really depends on how much you know about coins. Have they been graded? Have they been damaged by improper storage? Do you know where the mint marks are if any? If they are not graded, then it is hard to say what their value is, for grade determines value, as well as rarity. You can get a monthly magazine like Coins or Coinage they have a retail price guide in them. Expect to get 40% or so less than price listed. Fast easy way see a coin dealer. On that has a shop and has been there a while is usually a good guy. You can always see more than one. If you don't want to sell they may charge a small fee for their time. If you want to do some work, get a grading book if not graded, to help you determine the value.
