Can i do the MBA in US without work-ex..in good college.???.?

currently i am in last year of graduation....i have nt given GMAt yet...
plz solve my querry.....

Or should i opt for January 08 for Gmat

The top schools want about four years of work experience. They will take a few people with one to three years of experience -- if there is something unusual about the. They accept very few students with no work experience.

In my class at Duke I only knew of three students who were admitted with no work experience. Two of those three were Duke undergraduates who got in through a special five year combined BS/MBA program. The other one was a foreign student who had studied in the US at a top liberal arts college and had outstanding qualifications in every other area.

If you have a 4.0 from a top undergraduate school, 800 GMATs and some other unusual fact about you that indicates leadership -- then you might be able to get into a top MBA program now. Otherwise -- wait a few years.

There are certainly MBA programs that you could get into right away -- but the fact is that it doesn't really pay to get an MBA unless you can go to a top school.

If by good college you mean a nationally ranked and recognized program, then the answer is that it is highly unlikely. For the bottom of the top tier of schools (i.e. # 20-30), the average work experience is just under 5 years PLUS competitive GMAT and competitve GPA.

That is not to say that it does not happen. I went to Georgetown MBA and there was a kid in my class who was 21 years old from Kazakhstan (not kidding). I wondered why he was there considering that the average age of my class was 28. I worked with this guy in groups and realized that this guy was a highly decorated mathematician with particular talents in statistics. Bottom line: this guy got in because he was a recognized world class talent.

The only other way that I've seen an undergraduate matriculate directly into an MBA program without a GMAT score is in an impacted program through specific universities. Example: Some programs offer an impacted track that gives you a BS in business and an MBA in 5 years. There are not many of these programs and it is usually reserved for high school students who have exceptional SAT, GPA, and outstanding business related merits.

My advice is to take the GMAT in January and get a job when you graduate. Since you are in the mindset of school right now and you have the time, it is easier to take the GMAT. I took it when I was working. That is really hard from a time management perspective. Your score will be good for 3 years so it will be ready when you need it. Take the time and get the score as high as you can, get the right work experience, then apply a few years later.
