I'm not a cleaning freak, but i'm concerned about my health and others. When we touch something, do germs stay there until we touch the thing again? example, A milk gallo. Lots of people probably touched the gallon I had purchased and then it goes into my refrigerator. Do a have those germs from many people inside there? do i have to wipe things off? This same question goes for everything that we or people touch and stays sit for months until we touch it again. How long germs live in one place?

Almost all disease-causing organisms die quickly once separated from their host. Dry air is their enemy. Rest assured that you are not going to bring home the Plague on your milk jug.

Not all bacteria are pathogenic. Germs are everywhere, including all over the entire surface of your body! Many "germs" are actually beneficial.

You aren't actually licking the handle fo the milk jug, are you?

well germs all have a period of time that they do survive in the air...so my suggestion would be not to obsess on the subject because if you really knew what was out there you would go nutts!!...trust me we are surrounded always by germs...its all keeping things in perspective,,,buy yourself a big bottle of hand sanitizer and bleach wipes for the house.....your germ obsession will only get worse if you allow it...do not be ruled by organism that you do not even see.....my opinion.....good luck!...
