Is this a serious question. I am amazed that you would ask that. What would provoke you to lie to your spouse? You should keep no secrets from your mate. What comes around goes around and if you lie to your spouse, don't think they're not going to do the same thing. How would you like your spouse to lie to you? Being honest in a relationship is the strongest key to holding a relationship together. Always consult your spouse in important decision making, they might have some good advice and they would appreciate you consulting them. It will make your spouse feel even more important in your life.

Yes and yes.

On honesty: If you are cheating, which is dishonest anyway, you might think you need to lie to cover it up. But if you are heading that way, you should rather play open cards and let them know.

Important decisions that affect the two of you, yes. For other decisions that affect only you, you do have the authority to make your own decisions, but it is better if you can discuss with them, even if just for an alternative perspective on that decision, and since they are after all a big part of your life.

Yes, you should be honest with EVERYTHING. Nothing will hurt and tear down your relationship faster than not being open or lying. Even if you know its going to hurt her, she deserves the truth and nothing less. She will be happier if you tell her and shes sad then you keep it and her later finding out and ultimately causing more pain because you kept it from her.

I know from experience and what im going through now. Be honest. It truely is the best policy.

Yes because when you are not fully honest with your m ate he or she believes you are a liar which could not only make a bad relationship but lead to no relationship at all. It is always important to be honest especially in a relationship. If you love him or her always be honest. It will keep your relationship happy forever.

You should always be honest. If you know its going to be upsetting, do it in a gentle way. But no matter what secrets can only destroy a relationship. They always come out and when they do, its worse that if you would have been honest and truthful from the start

Important decisions, yes... But TOTAL honesty?

HELL NO!!!

"Honey, do you think that girl is attractive?"

"Yup, sure do."

"So you admit you think she's prettier than me!!!"

"What? No! I... I mean, yes, but... I... um. No.... I... oh shyt..."

Other questions where you'd better lie (if you know the truth is NOT what they want to hear) to your spouse:

does this make me look fat?
Did you have sex with more than 10 guys before we met? 20? 30?
You'd mean you'd rather spend Thanksgiving with your mother instead of mine?
Like my new hairdo?
