The QB is important because he's the one player on offense that can control what happens next. He has the power on the field to change a play if he thinks it's no good or move people around on the field to expose matchups.

QB's get special treatments all the time, especially when they're really good. When everyone is getting beatup in pratice they where a red jersey and can't be tackled. Look at the NFL now. If you even look at the QB you'll get flagged and/or fined.

The quarterback is the most important player on the football field, because the quarterback holds what is going to happen on every offensive play. If the quarterback wants to pass the ball, he can do that. If he wants to give the ball to the running back, he can do that to. Everyone is relying on the quarterback to mass good passes and the quarterback is relying on the offensive line to block the defensive line, so he has time to make good passes.

He's the most important because he is the one who controls what happens to the ball during each play. Often he also calls what each play will be, though sometimes coaches do that. Since the object of the game is to get the ball down the field to the goal, it's very important how it is controlled.

As for special treatment, I suppose they do get some, though every player has a specific function and each is just as important as any other.

A quarterback is the most important player because he has the most responsibility in a game to win. They get the ball and have to make sure they score or at least get the team in a winning situation. If your a very good quarterback like Payton Manning you get special treatment because your very good. But if your not that good like Trent Differ, you get most of the blame if you lose. And most quarterbacks get hurt bad if they are hit to much.So they get special treatment for that reason..hope that helped you

The QB is not the most important player on the team, they just get the most ink. He needs the rest of the team to function properly or he's useless. No O-line......look at David Carr. Good O-line, everyone looks great, eve mediocre RBs can get good yardage. As for special treatment, yes they do but they also are very vulnerable at times to cheap/late hits.

He calls the plays and gets the ball on virtually every possession, so he is very vital....but they arent necessary the most important player on the team. Example being the Baltimore Ravens with Trent Dilfer. No way was he the most important player on the team.

because everyone else on the team only has to know thier specific part in the action. The QB has to know what everyone is doing and has to make snap desisions to make the machine of the team work right. To answer you question I ask the same question about the president of the united states. Why is he the most important? Think about it.

The Quarterback not only has to know what he must do on every play he needs to know what every one else is doing on the play and must know how to interpret that against the defense in a short amount of time.

I actually don't think that there IS a most important player..the whole team works together and does their part..its not just one person at all.
