If you want quiet and romantic, you HAVE to go to the Sundial - it's a restaurant on the top floor of the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel. The restaurant rotates 360 degrees so you get to see ALL of Atlanta while you dine. Yes, it's pricey (two meals and drinks will surely be over $100), but it's quiet and romantic, which is what you are looking for.

dante's is fondue, the cathedral is called "the abbey" and its like a buffet. Its going to be hard to find a quiet restaurant, because in the city there are so many big groups of people that come in for some kind of celebration, especially now that its nutracker season. Sambuca is a really cool jazz place, cafe tu tu tango in buckhead is a really cool tapas place with belly dancers and psychics. If you are a serious high roller, you should consider the Sundial, or city grill. Both of them are quite extreme on the bill, but the view from the top of the westin is beautiful. The City Grill is also really pretty, but its not the view, its just a really nice quiet romantic place.

Good luck

There is this place called The Cathedral. It's just that. A cathedral that has been turned into a restaurant complete with the beautiful high set ceilings and colorful stained glass. All the waiters are male and dressed as monks. There's a pianist and a lit candle at every table. Also the lighting is kind of dim and gives just the right tone to the atmosphere. It's an upscale restaurant so it's a little pricey but if you want to impress a woman this is the place to go!

If your not afraid of heights the Sundial, on top of the Westin is nice. It is in Dowtown near the Peachtree center. I really enjoyed it, it is kinda pricey though. You are like 75 stories above the city.

If you like seafood, you should try Atlanta Fish Market. The atmosphere is classy and the seafood is flown in fresh daily. Also, they re-print the menu daily based on what they have in.

I love Dante's Down the Hatch in Buckhead. It's fondue so the dinner lasts a while and they have great music.

I love La Viollete, which serves moderately priced French food. Located on Briarcliff ITP.

Also, in Decatur is Cafe Alsace which is very cozy and romantic!
