Real love, unconditional love, makes you a much better and wiser person because you're stepping outside of your "Me" box and giving yourself selflessly to someone (or someones) and not thinking of yourself. Nothing calms the soul like giving to others.

Actually, love does make you wiser and calmer, if you are matched up with the right person.
Many people think that love is a terrible thing, or it has to be filled with drama and deceit, but it's not. Some people perception of love is warp, obsessive, cold and selfish and it's due to their life experiences.
True love consists of neither of the above. It's real, honest, giving, compassionate and it goes beyond any spoken word, plus more. But in order to achieve it, you must first love yourself, without any possible pretense, and forgive any past hurts that has occurred in your life and then watch what blossoms.

Does love make you a wiser and calmer person? Not really! People do a lot of stupid thing because they think they are in love.

I think that sometimes love does make you a little calm...because the other person is to balance you...i believe that it does make you a little wiser too as a person because sometimes that other person opens your eyes to a whole new idea that you've never even thought about...so..i do believe it does makes you a little wiser and a bit calm.

Love is wonderful but in no way does it make you wiser and definitely not calmer.

NO lol, sex makes you calmer. Life makes you wiser.
Love makes you a lunatic, doing things you never in a million years thought you would do. It makes you crazy and almost, if not mentally ill.
Love makes one stay up for days without sleep taking care of a baby who is sick. Cleaning up nasties from these kids that before you had them would make one sick.
When fighting with your other love makes you say and do things you never thought was even inside you to do, then saying your sorry. Love makes us crazy lol!
Some people (Van Gogh) it makes one even harm themselves (he cut off his ear).

Nothing guarantees to make you wise or calm. Being wise isn't how smart you are - it's how you use your smarts. And being calm isn't dependant on who you know - it's all about being in control of yourself.
