this is so random, my best friend got hit by a baseball and has a black eye, not very bad but still. she asked me if it would be weird to use makeup on her other eye. she usually puts it on both eyes, eyeshadow eyeliner mascara etc but with this black eye she obviously cant, so were both wondering what youd think if a girl had a black eye but her other eye looks great with makeup. weird or no???

I'd like to second the abuse thing. Very important if you're not sure it was a baseball.

If you friend wants to wear the eyeliner and eyeshadow, I think that WOULD look pretty weird just on one eye... however... having a black eye is more distracting than that.

She should wear what she feels she needs. That is most important. If she feels "naked" or less attractive, she should be able to wear it on just one eye... her feelings are way more important than what other people think.

You can put makeup (at least concealer) over a black eye. It won't cover it up completely but it's a start. It might hurt too much to apply it and the effort might not be worth it because it won't work completely. Perhaps that in combination with sunglasses would be for her (?) I like that idea best. It's really her call.

Or just sunglasses. Or nothing. shrug.

Thats just stupid. Just keep the surrounding skin of both eyes clean, try and keep swelling to a minimum. When the eye is back to normal then she should began wearing make up again.

There is no need to draw attention to her eyes during the one-two weeks that one is bruised.

If it was me, I wouldn't wear makeup on either eye until the bruising healed up. That is an interesting situation.

First, are you sure it was a baseball?

Abuse is dangerous and sometimes being scared keeps a person from reporting it. so first things first.

i would imagine that a good make up job would cover it, but make sure that it not "heavy" so it wouldn't look awkward.

My answer to this would be whatever makes you feel good about yourself. Don't worry about what other people think do what you think you should do.
