There are several key components to good customer service but I think the number one goal is one contact resolution. Not only does this retain customers but also reduces the cost to the business when issues are resolved in a single contact. Repeat phone calls and/or service visits result in a lower reputation for a company and increase the number of staff and other associated costs.

Good customer service is simple. Be polite and if you don't know the answer to something find someone who does.
