Well if look back like 5o years ago then you will see that people saying:lovely day were having ,and the other will will be like"yes it is.But if you come up to a person in newyork and ask a person for directions they will just pass by you and look at you like your crazy.Why

meanness is an external action (verbal or physical). the person who is mean is usually an unhappy one, with little or no self-esteem, few friends, with ongoing inner turmoil.
they take these internal problems and turn them outside so that the members of their external world pays the consequence of their miserable existence. pyschologically, this is called displacement.

Hmm... perhaps it's the way you ask and who you ask? Learn to read body language - many people simply do not wish to be bothered (corporate types on their way to a meeting, perhaps?) or they are afraid that you are up to something (paranoid people)... but I find most people all to happy to help or at least direct you to someone who can help. In fact, I was in New York City over the summer for several days and found that people were very friendly and helpful. I'm sorry you had a bad experience.... but remember, whatever someone says or does, it's not about you so don't take it personally.

people have bad days or alot of problems with expenses everything going up gas and houses etc

because this is todays word and i don't like it too. thousens of years ago some1 once said this word will be full of horrible people,they where right.and it will get worse.
